Storm Damage Insurance Claims Help in Evansville, IN

Hail, wind, fallen branches, storm impact. When weather damages your roof and you need to file a homeowners insurance claim, the documentation makes the difference between a quick payout and a months-long dispute. HomeVenture provides the documentation.

Most common covered events.

Homeowners insurance typically covers roof damage from specific events, not from age or wear. The most common categories that lead to a covered claim:

Hail damage.

Bruising, granule loss, mat damage, broken shingles. Often invisible from the ground.

Wind damage.

Lifted or missing shingles, loose flashing, damaged ridge caps. Common after severe thunderstorms.

Falling object damage.

Tree limbs, branches, or debris impact during a storm.

Sudden impact events.

Roof punctures, structural damage from a specific incident.

Water damage from a covered event.

Interior damage caused by a sudden storm-related roof failure (separate from gradual leak damage).

Homeowners insurance generally does NOT cover:

  • ×Roof failure from normal wear and age
  • ×Damage caused by poor installation or lack of maintenance
  • ×Cosmetic-only granule loss without underlying mat damage
  • ×Pre-existing damage that was not addressed at the time it occurred

The free inspection clarifies which category your damage falls into. If the damage is insurance-covered, we provide the documentation. If it is not, we tell you and explain why so you know what you are working with.

Documented, coordinated, claim-ready.

The HomeVenture insurance claim process runs through four stages:

  1. Documentation inspection.

We climb the roof, photograph the damage with date stamps, document the underlying cause, and produce a written scope of repair or replacement. This becomes the documentation package you provide to your insurance company.

  2. Claim filing support.

You file the claim with your carrier. We provide the documentation package and answer any technical questions. If your carrier wants to verify with us, we coordinate directly.

  3. Adjuster meeting.

When the insurance adjuster comes to inspect your roof, we meet them at the property if you want us there. The 16-step documentation and the photo report make the adjuster's job faster. Adjusters who can verify damage quickly approve claims faster.

  4. Project execution.

Once the claim is approved, we execute the work under the same documented 16-step standard as every other HomeVenture full replacement, including the seven written guarantees. The insurance proceeds plus your deductible cover the project. Many homeowners finance the deductible through Slice by FNBO so they do not need to come out of pocket.

The documentation that moves claims faster.

A HomeVenture damage assessment includes:

  • Date-stamped photos of every damage point on the roof
  • A written scope of repair or replacement matched to industry-standard insurance estimating systems (Xactimate-compatible)
  • Material specifications for every component being replaced
  • A line-item breakdown of labor and materials
  • Photos of the underlying cause (hail, wind pattern, impact point) when visible
  • Attic-level documentation of any interior water damage from a covered event
  • Manufacturer documentation for any covered material components

This documentation matches what experienced public adjusters provide. The difference is we are not charging you 10 percent of the claim payout to assemble it.

Why our project file makes claims move faster.

If we install a new HomeVenture roof under an insurance claim, the closeout project file becomes a layer of protection for any future claim on the same roof. The project file contains:

  • Pre-install photos of the existing damage being replaced
  • Decking documentation
  • Photo evidence of the install meeting manufacturer specifications
  • Material specs that meet or exceed code
  • Manufacturer warranty paperwork

Two years from now, if a hail event damages the same roof, the existing project file gives the next adjuster a baseline to compare against. The damage assessment becomes faster, the claim approval becomes faster, the repair becomes faster.

This is one of the practical reasons documentation matters. The receipts work for you across the life of the roof.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for the insurance documentation?

No. The free inspection includes documentation suitable for an insurance claim. We do not charge separately for the photo report, written scope, or adjuster coordination on jobs we ultimately do.

Do you work with all insurance carriers?

Yes. We have worked with most major homeowners insurance carriers including State Farm, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, USAA, Farmers, Travelers, Erie, American Family, and regional carriers. We do not have a preferred carrier and do not steer claims one way or another.

Should I file the claim before or after the inspection?

Get the inspection first. The inspection tells you whether the damage is significant enough to warrant a claim. Filing a small claim that gets denied or only partially approved can count against your claim history. The inspection helps you decide whether filing makes sense.

Will my insurance go up if I file a roof claim?

Most weather-related claims (hail, wind, storm) do not trigger premium increases at most carriers because the damage is from a covered event outside the homeowner's control. Multiple claims or claims for maintenance-related damage are different. Your insurance agent can tell you specifically how your carrier handles roof claims.

Can you do the repair if my insurance does not cover the full amount?

Yes. If the insurance proceeds plus your deductible do not fully cover the project, the difference can be financed through Slice by FNBO or paid out of pocket. We work with you on the timeline and payment structure.

Do you handle storm chasers or door-to-door sales after a storm?

No. HomeVenture does not knock doors after major storms. We do not pressure homeowners to file claims or sign contracts at the door. If a 'storm chaser' contractor has visited and pressured you, schedule a free inspection with us and we will give you an independent documented assessment. No obligation either way.

What if my claim is denied?

Insurance claim denials happen. Sometimes the damage genuinely does not meet the carrier's coverage threshold. Sometimes the carrier denies a legitimate claim. If you believe your claim was wrongly denied, we can provide additional documentation to support an appeal. We do not file appeals on your behalf — that is between you and your carrier — but we provide the documentation you need.
